St. Damien’s Great Grand-Nephew

We brought a few gifts over to Europe to share with people we meet, and who are significant to our mission.  Today, Mr. John met a relative of Fr. Damien, whose name is also Damien.  He was dressed to look like Fr. Damien for the Mass and the Museum.  Mr. John gave many gifts to him for he and his family, including the medallions we made, a rosary and 2 t-shirts.  Damien was shocked at our generosity and at our love for the man we will soon call Saint.  Damien hugged Mr. John and started to sob with emotion.  He expressed how greatful he was for all the people of Hawaii and all the love and support he has received from our local residents.  Our Aloha has truly touched his and his family’s lives…..Isn’t God great!  His gift to Hawaii over 130 years ago has continued to bring happiness to us after all these years.
